About Our Beer
History of Brewing
Around 6,000 years ago mankind discovered the if grains were left in water and exposed to air for a number of days the results can be…staggering! Thus, the discovery of alcohol. Many historians agree that communal cultures began as a result of farming rather than hunting and gathering food. Bread made from harvested grains was a staple in most societies, as was liquid bread, or beer.
Throughout the ages beer has played a critical role in the numerous societies around the world. Beer has been used to pay laborers, laws have been written to protect the sanctity of ingredients. Beer has been brewed and consumed for many centuries because the process of fermentation eliminates the burden of contaminated water. A good beer also compliments a meal and acts as a social lubricant.
Here at the Buckner Brewing Company we strive to create authentic styles of beer with a bit of our own character. Buckners offers a variety of unfiltered, ever-evolving beers suited for any palate. Expect to see rotating seasonal brews reminiscent of old styles, but with a modern, unique twist.

Capacity at Buckners
The Buckner Brewing Company hand-crafts our beers in a 14 barrel brewhouse designed by Specific Mechanical. Capable of producing 14 barrels, or 441 gallons, at a time the Buckner Brewhouse is able to ferment out a total of 70 barrels, or 2,205 gallons, of beer in our 4 verticle fermentors. After a week of fermentation, and two weeks of conditioning time the beer is then sent down to our Icehouse where it is carbonated and allowed to settle before serving. The Buckner Icehouse has a holding capacity of 91 barrels, or 2,867 gallons, of unfiltered, hand-crafted beer!
