The River View Room at Buckner Brewing Company is Cape Girardeau’s premier mid-sized event site. The room is at the very heart of the city, both in architecture and location. Set on the third floor of the historic Buckner-Ragsdale building, the River View Room commands a grand, multiple-windowed, two-mile view of the Mississippi River. The majestic Emerson Bridge is at its best as you look downriver from the RVR in the evening. Beyond the river lie the rolling hills of Illinois’ Shawnee National Forest.
Our century-old building itself, located where Broadway runs into the river, has survived countless floods and two fires in its storied history. It has watched Cape Girardeau’s downtown riverfront move from Mark Twain’s steamboat days to the revitalized Old Town Cape of the 21st Century. The River View Room highlights that history with its original brick and plaster architecture and its stately early 20th century woodwork.
Able to comfortably seat 175 for formal dining at white-cloth rounds of eight, the River View Room also boasts a remarkable versatility, easily transformed into a quiet wedding hall, an upscale coat-and-tails charity auction with wine and hors d’oeuvres, or a company’s festive holiday party anchored by a buffet.

Not limited by the popular classic brew house menu downstairs at Buckner’s, our catering menu can expand to fit your taste–from a homey and classic dinner to a themed luncheon. The fully stocked bar can meet every need, from delicious beer made just downstairs to that unique signature drink for your one-of-a-kind gathering. And if Event Coordinator Sara Eaton doesn’t have what you’re looking for on hand, you can bet that she and her staff will find it for you!
Looking for something more intimate? We have two smaller gathering rooms where you can enjoy the charm and casual elegance of our historic building.
Located on the main-level, the Lounge is perfect for a small rehearsal dinner or a surprise party of up to fifty guests. With personal waitstaff and French doors, you can enjoy your privacy as you relax with your closest friends.
On the Balcony, you can still be a part of the action while avoiding the crowd. Overlooking the Buckner Bar, the balcony is ideal for gatherings of groups of twenty-five or less, from rowdy bachelorette parties to quiet study groups.
